Abstract

The aortic valve is located between the left ventricle and the aorta, opening to allow blood to flow out of the heart of the left ventricle through the aorta. Aortic stenosis blocks blood from the left ventricle to the aorta during ventricular systole. As resistance to ventricular ejection increases, the left ventricular pressure load increases. Aortic Stenosis (AS) is a disorder in which the aortic valve does not open fully or is narrowed, thereby preventing blood flow from the heart smoothly. Echocardiography is one of the supporting examinations in heart disease. Echocardiography is also the most frequently performed examination. During the examination, there are several standard positions for placing the transducer during the examination and at each position several views can be seen. The aim of this study is to find out how to assess the severity of Aortic Stenosis using Echocardiography with Mean Pressure Gradient (MPG) and Aortic Valve Area (AVA) measurements. The qualitative research method is descriptive with a case study approach. The number of patients in this study was 2 samples.
