Abstract

Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) is described as a chronic disturbance of the return flow of blood from the limbs to the heart. CVI is a condition involving the venous system of the lower extremities that can cause various pathologies including pain, swelling, skin changes and ulceration. CVI occurs if the vein valves do not function properly, and there is disruption of blood circulation in the leg veins. Doppler sonography is an imaging modality that is quite good in diagnosing blood vessel diseases such as CVI. The aim was to evaluate the severity of CVI with vascular Doppler using the CEAP classification. The type of research used in this research is descriptive research which uses a case study design to provide an overview of how to determine the severity of CVI using the CEAP classification. This research uses a purposive sampling technique, with 2 samples. The results of the study showed that the severity of CVI was seen from the condition of the physical examination, anatomy seen in the CEAP classification where in patient 1 the clinical classification was C5-C6 and C2-C3 for patient 2. For patient 1 the etiology was divided into primary and secondary and in patient 2 due to vein valves that are not functioning properly, the anatomical location of patient 1 is in the GSV above the knee and poplitea while patient 2 is in the poplitea and femoralis, the pathophysiology in patient 1 occurs due to obstruction and reflux while in patient 2 it occurs due to reflux.
